What got me thinking about this was a trip in a light aircraft.

Last weekend it was my sons birthday and we got him a flight in a twin engine chieftain aircraft run by the local parachuting club at Coolangatta on the Gold Coast.

Fortunately I was able to go up in the plane as well.

As we taxied out we watched 4 other aircraft creep along and cross our path down the taxi way. They were clearly in line in front of us, which meant that we were going to have a 10min delay from our designated departure time.

This just adds to the running coast and I suspect helps build a the suspense of those just about to jump out of this plane.

So the pilot then asked if there was a way of jumping the que, thus saving money and time.

The tower then allowed us to pull straight on to the runway in front of the waiting jet liner and because we were smaller and able to get airborne and out of the way quickly, allowed us to go……..

This is the same with your business……

So many people think they can’t compete with the larger companies because they are much bigger.

I can tell you from experience that LARGE companies have BIGGER problems and it takes LONGER to effect any change.

So as a small business owner or the owner of a business that has a small management team you are in a great position……………

By being close to your market and knowing what’s happening you can react very quickly and prosper………………. long before the big companies can.

All the red tap and approvals that big companies require before any changes can be made only cause them to miss out.

Just like my plane ride, had we not have been able to go at the precise time the tower told us to we would have been sitting waiting for all the others in front of us.
