Have you ever wondered why you get out of bed every day and do what you do? I was listening to a podcast by John McIntyre the other day and that question was asked, which got me thinking.
Why do I own and run a business called LEAD RANK Media?
Why do all the posting and prospecting that we must do when owning a business?
Why not just go and get a job like everyone else?
My why is that I love being the person that people go to when they have a problem (Online Marketing) that needs solving! I guess this goes way back to when I was a kid and getting frustrated by not being included when the family decisions were being made, I’m not sure and that doesn’t really matter anyway. I do know that I take great pleasure out of being able to implement a strategy that works.
Throughout my careers, yeah I’ve had a few different directions, I found myself pushing to quickly gain the knowledge and experience required to be that problem solver. However the specific industries I was in were limiting my scope as a problem solver.
So here I am, I really haven’t chosen this path but rather have been drawn to it. I have acquired online marketing skills and expertise, assembled an awesome team and now provide the strategy and implementation of online marketing systems to SME’s world wide. Pretty awesome I think.
This sounds obvious but I suffer this every day and I see other business owners with the same issues.
So to put this into the context of marketing your business online. How are you applying the formula?
Results – Do you have a process of tracking your online marketing statistics? Then using that data to implement improvements?
Awareness – How well do you understand your prospects that visit your website? Most people believe they are aware they need to be on the internet. But is that the only thing you need to be aware of?…………what about all the available online marketing strategies available to make the most of the opportunities available?
Actions – Most business owners go and get a website built or get some sort of business listing online.
Job done……………… or so they think!!!!!

As a small business owner with limited resources I had to learn what worked and what didn't when it came to marketing my business. I was sick of all the emails and gurus claiming to be able to get me more business than I could handle. I thought, "if were that easy every one would be over run with customers" So I learnt for my self what worked. By far the best and most cost effective strategy I employed was Direct Response Marketing (where everything I published required the reader to take and action). I have now taken this further and made my website direct response. Now at any point there is an action you can take and it's consistent with why you are on the page in the first place.
