Blogging for Business v Blogging for Hobby

Business blog verses Hobby blog

What’s the difference between blogging to generate business and blogging for Passion?

The major difference is the knowledge behind the intent.

What I mean is that often blogs just start out as being a way for someone to tell the world about

Business blog verses Hobby blog

It’s easy to see what happens when you apply a business strategy to a hobby blog

their passion.

That’s great but as time goes by the work load actually increases and all of a sudden just writing about what you love somehow looses it’s luster and it then becomes hard work.

Worst still it doesn’t pay anything.

Business blogging on the other hand, is very targeted. Knowing exactly who you are writing to and why is critical. It’s critical because if you are looking to promote your product or service as being the solution to someones problem……..

You should know who they are and what their problem is………….. at the very least.

When you get it right the pay off can be handsome.

What is the Difference then?????

When you write for your business you get very targeted and only try and solve one problem at a time.

Imagine that you’re talking to just one person as well.

You know what it’s like when you’re selling to a person face to face. You don’t talk in terms of a group of people, do you?

Nor do you talk about yourself all the time……… you don’t do you?

Well writing a post on your website is no different. AT ALL

Always have a link to your product page or better still…..

A link to a place where you can demonstrate how the product solves the particular problem you speak about in your blog post.

For example…………

What we are talking about here is how to write and post blog post to attract new business, convert them into lifetime customers.

I study website statistics and know that most website visitors will visit a website and leave within 3 seconds, in fact that figure is 92% of them.

What we want to do is to engage people and have them stay on the website longer………. correct?

So we have them visit a page that specifically talks about that subject. If you want to learn exactly how to do this CLICK HERE

By taking a “solution provider” approach you can you will be building rapport.

Remember this is a person first and foremost, whom you have never met. So you have to do something to different to the rest of your competition. Starting that relationship early is a great start.

I hope you like what I’m writing and would love your feedback.

About the Author RussF

As a small business owner with limited resources I had to learn what worked and what didn't when it came to marketing my business. I was sick of all the emails and gurus claiming to be able to get me more business than I could handle. I thought, "if were that easy every one would be over run with customers" So I learnt for my self what worked. By far the best and most cost effective strategy I employed was Direct Response Marketing (where everything I published required the reader to take and action). I have now taken this further and made my website direct response. Now at any point there is an action you can take and it's consistent with why you are on the page in the first place. (Most of the time) If you want to know more about this just reach out to me and we can discuss it.
