More Customer

That’s all I want is more customers!

The is the response I get from just about every business owner when I first speak to them.Sharing content on social media

Of course this is true, we all want more customers but when I dig in a little deeper I find there is actually some caveats to that, if they were allowed to dream a little.

You see everyone thinks that the answer to having a highly successful business is to get more customers. When what we really need is to make more money.

Upon removing the topsoil we actually uncover a desire to

  1. Get better results from our marketing
  2. Have more customers buying more often
  3. Not be shopped on price

When we dig a little deeper again we uncover the utopia spot of on dealing with those perfect customers who are a delight to interact with and who never argue about the price.

So, Is that just a Pipe Dream?

Short answer, No. I go into a bit more detail in a minute. But first lets look at the 3 ways to double customer numbers from your website.

    1. Get more visitors, before you roll your eyes and say oh crap here we go again. Getting more visitors doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money or even cost you a lot of time. It does however require you to have a plan and to implement the strategy. It requires you to think about your business both short and long term and who you want as a customer. It also requires you to understand a bit about how digital marketing works and what the implications of your online actions have to your ability to be effective online. Read More

  • Convert them from Visitor to Prospect to Customer, when you get a potential customer approach you right now, do you try and sell to them in the first sentence. When you first meet a girl or guy do you say, ‘Hi, nice to meet you. Would you like to marry me”? No you spend some time getting to know them and to understand what they need and want. You build rapport. The same things goes for your business with being on the internet, even more so in fact. Read More
  • Deliver on your Promise, The number of times I hear the story about people not delivering on the promises made during sale. Especially with service related industries. When ever anyone says something about it, usually the story ends up with them saying “if only they would turn up when they say they are going to”. Read More

If you were to pay particular attention to those three aspects of your business you will double your customer numbers.

My big tip is to work backwards.

Start with the delivery – make sure that your customer experience is the best it can be. Make sure they want to talk about you and recommend you to their friends. Talk to them and find out why they chose you over your competition.

During the delivery process make sure you become curious about why your customers chose you over your competitors. Integrate this knowledge into your conversations to better help you understand their needs, wants and frustrations. Then you will be able to better solve their problem.

Get More Customers – knowing more about your customers and what questions they have, gives you plenty of opportunity to answers these questions and distribute it across the channels available. The key is to get your information out there so that it brings people back to your website.

About the Author RussF

As a small business owner with limited resources I had to learn what worked and what didn't when it came to marketing my business. I was sick of all the emails and gurus claiming to be able to get me more business than I could handle. I thought, "if were that easy every one would be over run with customers" So I learnt for my self what worked. By far the best and most cost effective strategy I employed was Direct Response Marketing (where everything I published required the reader to take and action). I have now taken this further and made my website direct response. Now at any point there is an action you can take and it's consistent with why you are on the page in the first place. (Most of the time) If you want to know more about this just reach out to me and we can discuss it.
